We are big fans of reading at our house and I really like giving books to our kids that are holiday themed. It’s important to instill a love of reading early on to build a lifetime of literacy. I think that holiday books just add that extra bit of excitement for kids to truly enjoy when sitting down with a good book. The following list of Christmas books are perfect for gift giving and especially perfect for kindergarteners.

Books are the perfect gifts for birthdays or holidays. You may remember the Valentine book theme I went with earlier in the year for my kids. My daughter still LOVES that Day It Rained Hearts book and requests to read it to me often. In fact we’ve read it two nights in a row at bedtime! The following books are all Christmas themed and perfect for kindergartners, but truly can be enjoyed by kids of all ages. There’s an extra magic that is Christmas found within the pages for everyone at your house!

My Favorite Kids Christmas Books

A Charlie Brown Christmas Books.

Christmas Books The Biggest Christmas Tree Ever.

So many great books to read on Christmas Eve! These books also make great stocking stuffers that kids will remember and want to read every year at Christmastime. Or all year long like my daughter does with The Day It Rained Hearts Valentines book. *wink*

There’s nothing wrong with reading a holiday themed book when it’s not a holiday. A book can be read anytime. Reading is all about imagination and that means when you step foot into a book, you are magically transported through its pages to whatever the story is about. It could be Christmas in July!
