The 2019 Mutual Theme is “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). I’m currently serving as the Beehive advisor and so I decided to make some bracelets to give to girls for Christmas. These DIY bracelets are super easy to make and come out to be about $1 each. Plus, they turned out super cute. If I do say so myself!
Called To Serve In Young Women & The 2019 Mutual Theme
I love serving in Young Women for my church. Mostly it’s because the girls are so happy and full of a zest for life. Receiving this calling came at a time when I was really struggling. (Okay I’m still really struggling most day, but it is getting easier.) About a month after suffering a miscarriage I was asked to be the Beehive advisor. Despite my struggles, I truly believe the calling came at the best time. It has given me something to focus on. A higher calling if you will. And I love being around the sweet spirt that is found within the Young Women organization.
I also love serving because it brings back memories of all the amazing leaders I had as a youth and the summers spent with friends at girl’s camp.
Several of these girls and I built forever friendships. I’m still close with one of my amazing leaders and we still keep in touch. That word keep definitely fits with the new YW theme for this year.
DIY 2019 Mutual Theme Bracelets For Young Women
These bracelets are so easy to make and can be styled in a lot of different ways. I decided create these simple with just the word ‘keep’ on each one to remind the girls to keep the commandments.
What you’ll need:
What you’ll do:
- use needle nose pliers to bend the end of the wire and open the bracelet
- thread beads onto bracelet
I put the beads in between the two ends so the letters would just slide in that space. You could also add more decorative beads on either side of ‘keep’ for less room to slide. It’s that simple to create this simple look!
2019 Mutual Theme
The Beehive girls were thrilled to receive these for Christmas and I enjoyed making them something special to remember the 2019 theme.
