Crispy Baked Taco Cones Recipe for Taco Tuesday
At our house we love a good taco, particularly if served on a Tuesday but let’s be honest… shouldn’t every night be taco night? There are just so many different type of tacos to choose from. Whether you want something savory or light and vegetarian, there’s a taco combination that fits the flavor of the entire family. Even breakfast tacos for dinner!
What is the most popular kind of taco?
In the United States the most popular kind of taco goes to ground beef. Shredded chicken is also popular along with breakfast taco fillings (scrambled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, bean and cheese, etc.) Other taco favorites have an al pastor base with marinated pork like carne asada, carnitas, and barbacoa.

Homemade Taco Cones
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (cooked and turned into taco meat with taco seasoning)
6-8 large flour tortillas (use wheat tortillas if you’d like a healthier taco)
1 cup salsa
Favorite taco toppings (lettuce, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, fresh cilantro, green chilies, guacamole, black olives, sour cream etc.)
*optional black beans or refried beans
Preparation Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
Roll the tortillas into a cone shape and fold the tip of the cone slightly.
Place a ball of aluminum foil down into the center of the tortilla to help hold the shape of the cone as it bakes (you can also use a crumpled ball of parchment paper).
Lay cone on baking sheet and bake about 10 minutes until golden brown.
Carefully remove the foil ball (as it will be hot) and then allow cone to cool slightly.
Fill cones with taco meat and toppings.
Add a dollop of sour cream or your favorite guacamole recipe.
Serve & enjoy!
Another fun idea to make with tortilla cones:
Create a pizza cone by layering cheese, pizza sauce, and pepperoni!
