We all love a good competition, especially when it comes to food- how fun! Involve your family with a picnic or campground cookout contest. Pick your family’s go-to dish and challenge them as individuals or split yourselves into teams to create your recipe.

Create a Family Photo Album
This fun activity will provide long-lasting memories and meaning. Get an area set up where your family members can gather to do crafts, ideally a family-sized tent or a pop-up shelter. Before going camping ask each member to bring copies of their family photos that can me turned into a family photo album. Let each family member decorate their page with their own words and visuals over the course of the camping trip.
Family Trivia
This is an informative and fun trivia game that’s based on your own family history and story. Create personalized questions to ask and during the family trivia game, split your family into several teams. If you have a smaller family you can take turns to ask questions, or play the game Jeopardy-style.
Water Balloon Toss
This classic game is a must on hot summer days. Each family member should pick a partner and they should stand facing each other at two-feet apart. After each water balloon toss, they should both take a step backwards. The winning team will be the ones that toss the ball the farthest without making it pop. Prizes can be incorporated to make this game even more fun! Remember to pick up the popped balloons once done playing.

Play a Game of Ball
A game of ball is one of the best activities for a family to play because everyone can play together. Gather everyone together outside and play a ball game on the playgrounds or on-site games areas.
Charades
Everyone loves this classic game, the competition and quickness of it will bring out the personalities of all your family members- even the introverts! The best part about this game is that it can be played anytime and anywhere. Charades can be played with a traditional game set, or there’s the option of going DIY and coming up with your own list. If doing the latter, get each family member to write a list with the following : one activity, one phrase, one famous person, one book, and one movie.
Campfire Story Time
This is a great way for your family to have fun during the nights when sitting around the campfire. Ask each member to prepare a funny, sweet, or fun story about another family member and share it with the rest of the family members once gathered together. Remember, the best stories are the ones that are unexpected and unusual about a particular family member’s personality. Also, try think of a campfire story that the rest of the family don’t know about yet.

This game is great for a big group of all ages. Have your family split up into groups of two and stand facing each other at thirty feet apart. All the groups need to put spoons in their mouth. The first player needs to place an egg on their spoon and run to their partner, placing the egg on their spoon without letting the egg fall. The second player needs to then run back to the other side to win. When a team drop their egg, they’re out. It’s best to prepare eggs that are hard-boiled to play this game, otherwise be prepared to clean up the yolky mess at the end of the egg race!
