Yet another date night at the Fabulous Fox here in St. Louis! I love being a partner with the historic theatre and being able to attend media nights. Often times it’s opening night and last night we were even invited to attend the cast party after the show was over. Which performance did we attend? Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. Read on to find out my thoughts and to see pictures of an area in the Fox Theatre that many never get an opportunity to see.

The words spoke volumes to what was the life of Donna Adrian Gaines.
Oh what a show. I honestly didn’t know much of anything about the life of either Donna Gaines or Donna Summer prior to attending the musical. Her life was one that was quite complex. Full of highs and lows, happiness and pain, goodness and tragedy. But what a life she lived!

Diva Donna, Disco Donna, and Duckling Donna
Dan’yelle Williamson, Alex Hairston and Olivia Elease Hardy are the three Donnas. Each exhibits so much talent and it’s hard not to think that Donna Summer isn’t up on stage.

The different stages of Donna were perfectly depicted. It was as if she lived completely different lives as time went on, because she did. Each stage brought a new trial, but also new growth. The vocals were constantly amazing and gave me chills. Dan’yelle Williamson, Alex Hairston and Olivia Elease Hardy definitely hit the mark when it comes to Diva Donna, Disco Donna, and Duckling Donna.

The entire cast performed amazingly and the audience was indeed captivated by the sounds of the Disco Queen.
Cast Party
After the show we joined the cast for a party in their honor. We dined in the gorgeous Fox Club Lounge and were able to chat with the Broadway stars.
