I’m all about the festive desserts. It’s the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth and fit the whatever holiday or season you are in. (i.e. red and green jello for Christmas, pink and red for Valentine’s Day, green for St. Patrick’s Day or even rainbow jello parfaits for birthdays. This delicious dessert is so easy to make and the end result is a sweet treat that you’ll make again and again.

How long does it take for jello to set up?

Jello will typically set up in just 2-4 hours after being refrigerated.

How long does jello last in the refrigerator?

Plain jello (without fruit salad mixed in) will last in the refrigerator for about 7-10 days. I’d ere on the side of caution when preserving a jello salad and say about a week for that type.

Red White Blue Jello Parfaits

The perfect dessert for the 4th of July!

What you’ll need to make this jello parfait recipe:

  • Package of cherry jello (or red jello)
  • Package of berry blue jello (or blue jello)
  • Whipped cream (or a dollop of cool whip for each parfait)
  • Patriotic sprinkles in red, white and blue
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Parfait glasses

What you’ll do to make this jello parfait recipe:

Step 1: Follow package instructions to make the jello recipe.

Step 2: Allow jello mixture to cool in a medium bowl and then place in pourable measuring cup (it just makes it easier to pour into the parfait glasses).

Step 3: Pour red jello into glass halfway.

Step 4: Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

Step 5: Mix up blue jello and allow to fully cool. Then pour onto red layer.

Step 6: Refrigerate again for 2-4 hours.

Step 7: Top with whipped cream sprinkles and a maraschino cherry!
