When it comes to family fun we love to spend time outdoors. Going on hikes is a particular favorite. It’s such an adventure to explore new places or visit some of our treasured stomping grounds. For us taking a hike is the perfect opportunity to just be together and enjoy nature. There’s so much to see in the great outdoors. So many amazing things to discover. A great way to add to the experience is with a fun hiking scavenger hunt!

Free Printable Hiking Scavenger Hunt

A few weeks ago we traveled to St. George, Utah to visit my husband’s side of the family. We often find ourselves in this part of the country but up to this point hadn’t taken our children on many of the hikes there. In years past the kids were just too small. This time around we explored so many new places for our kids. A new family favorite? Zion National Park.

The kids absolutely loved it.

As much as I love spending time outdoors with my family I’m also very careful when it comes to the sun. It’s no secret that I’ve had basal cell carcinoma on my face. I don’t want to go through that again and I want my entire family to avoid it as well. Naturally now I’m extra vigilant with protecting our skin from the sun’s harmful rays especially when we are out hiking. I recently discovered Blue Lizard® Australian Sunscreen at my local Walmart and I was so glad to see the Blue Lizard® Australian Sunscreen Sensitive option on the shelf. Sensitive skin gal over here! I’m also impressed with the level of protection it provides. (See below.)

*Note in regards to children and Blue Lizard® sunscreen: Please remember to consult with your pediatrician before using this product on a baby under 6 months of age. If your children are over 6 months of age then Blue Lizard® recommends using either the Baby or Sensitive formulation on this age group.

My favorites about the brand:

  • Again I like that Blue Lizard® comes in a sensitive formulation because I have sensitive skin.
  • It’s a pharmaceutical grade sunscreen that is trusted by dermatologists, pediatricians, and moms like me.
  • Blue Lizard® is SPF 30+ which is something that I’m always in search of.
  • The bottle actually turns from white to blue when exposed to harmful UV rays.
  • I love the fact that Blue Lizard® was created in Australia. Did you know that they have the most strict sunscreen standards in the world?
