The Muny is hosting its first live concert in more than 30 years! A night of songs and stories with Tony winner John Legend and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will be filling the air in Forest Park on the evening of September 7th. It’s going to be a night to remember and I’m so excited to share that just like the musical productions at The Muny, there will be over 1500 free seats available for this unique concert.
How To Get Free Seats for John Legend Concert at The Muny
I’ve always thought that The Muny is the perfect venue for live concerts. After all it is one of the most celebrated musical theatre stages. It’s well known in the Broadway musical world and a dream for many to perform on the magnificent stage in Forest Park. The sheer size and setting is made for outdoor music. The Muny is hosting its first live concert in more than 30 years and I cannot wait for it.
The last concert at The Muny was clear back in 1991 with Kansas and the Moody Blues taking the stage. Prior to that concert, there has been other notable artists live in concert at The Muny including Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Sting, Barry Manilow, Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers, and Hank Williams Jr.
This team up of the incredible John Legend with our very own amazing symphony orchestra is the perfect opening for bringing back live concerts, dare I hope that this will be a regular occurrence and just be the opening to the next chapter of concerts at The Muny??? I for one am rooting for a holiday performance of some sort. And I’m not picky. I’d totally be okay with the Christmas Carol being performed at The Muny!

Free Seats at The Muny
The Muny tradition of having free seats is a long standing and remarkable tradition. It allows for all members of our community to experience live musical theater. Generations of St. Louisans has enjoyed exceptional musical theatre through this generous opportunity. Typically the free seats for the musical productions are on a first-come, first-served basis with the night of the show being when you get in line at the top (back) 9 rows of the theatre. It’s a beloved tradition that the largest outdoor musical theatre offers to the community.

How To Get Free John Legend Tickets
John Legend’s first-ever performance at The Muny will be on the night September 7th at 8pm. For this special event, The Muny is partnering with Lucky Seat for free seats to be distributed tickets via a random digital drawing.
Entries will be accepted starting on July 25th at 10am until August 7th at 9:30 am (CDT).
The drawings for free tickets will begin starting on August 7th at 10 am (CDT) and the luck will continue as needed. All winners will be notified via email and given details at that time for how to claim their tickets.

Only one entry per person will be accepted.
Duplicate entries and disposable email addresses will be discarded.
