Spring break this year was amazing. Especially since last year was a total bust due to the pandemic. Our family loves the outdoors and hiking so this year we decided to discover all that Land Between The Lakes has to offer. The land that is found right between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake is just 3 hours from St. Louis. It’s the perfect little jaunt from our home in the Midwest. Lots of outdoor adventures and hiking for the entire family.

Where To Stay In Land Between The Lakes
When I was researching resorts for our spring break trip I happened upon Green Turtle Bay and instantly fell in love with what I saw. I knew right away that I wanted to review it on the blog and I’m so thankful that we were hosted. It’s a family resort that we are already talking about returning to again.
Grand Rivers, Kentucky
Green Turtle Bay is located on the shores of Lake Barkley in the quaint village of Grand Rivers, Kentucky. One side of the village is bordered by Kentucky Lake and the other by Lake Barkley; located at the top of Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area with only a couple miles of land separating the two lakes.

Green Turtle Bay Resort And Yacht Club
Green Turtle Bay is more than just a regular resort. It’s also a yacht club with tons of amenities. This family owned resort has been in business for over 35 years and it’s a destination that I soon learned families return to year after year. It’s close to so many of the popular national recreation area attractions of Western Kentucky in addition to world class boating.
My family and I discovered that this unique resort is full of so many gems beyond just the yacht club.
Land Between The Lake Resort
There are various types of accommodations to fit all different family sizes available at Green Turtle Bay. Including cute streets of condos in a wooded, so serene setting.
We had a nice view of Lake Barkley from the Elliebelle condo that we stayed in and the kids loved that it was located right next to the playground.
Things To Love About Green Turtle Bay At Land Between The Lakes
Comfortable Condos
All the comforts of home are found in the condos at Green Turtle Bay resort. The two bedroom was the perfect size for our family. Each bedroom has a dedicated bathroom. The kitchen comes fully equipped and the entire place was decorated with beautiful nautical touches. Other features included a washer and dryer, gas grill on the deck and fireplace in the living room. The unit also came with linens and towels. Everything we needed for our stay!
Beautiful Beach
The shores of Lake Barkley are a nice stroll from the rest of the resort. I could just picture the beach bonfires and sand volleyball games that take place during the summer months. Green Turtle Bay has an activity schedule that definitely sets it apart from the other resorts in the area.
Perfect Pool
Lots of swimming options! There’s an outdoor pool (that was closed for the season), the lake and a really awesome indoor pool. Our kids could not get enough of swimming after a long winter without access to a pool.
Fantastic Food
There are three different restaurants right on site: Commonwealth Yacht Club, Dockers On The Bay, and Thirsty Turtle. We really enjoyed our carry-out dining from the Thirsty Turtle. The fish and chips was so delicious!
Playful Playground
Again our kids loved that there was a playground right next to the Ellibelle condo. It featured fun for kids of all ages.
Additional Amenities
Green Turtle Bay Resort and Yacht Club even has a spa and health club! The lemon grass incense coming from the Jade and Earth Spa seriously smelled so divine.
