The Les Misérables United States tour has hit the Fox Theatre and I’ve been waiting for this moment for 13 years. Last night was only my second time seeing this masterpiece and I found myself sitting in the audience in awe all over again. It’s still amazing.

Before my husband and I had children, we liked to travel. Sure we go places now, but mostly kid friendly options or trips that are closer to home.
The first time I ever saw Les Mis was in London and I think that it was fitting that our trip concluded in France. It was by far my most favorite show to see while across the pond.
Blessed to experience it again right here in the Lou at the Fabulous Fox with my guy. ❤️
Even more breathtaking when within the beauty of the Fox Theatre.

The production is a new one and I love the results. Still the same story and characters we know and love. However, the set is so very different with unique effects. Personally I loved all of the special effects, but could see how others might be longing for the original. Through the use of digital projection, the performers look like they are really moving through scenes; think Jean Valjean carrying Marius to safety through the underground. While there are differences from the original, there’s also so much likeness. It’s masterfully done. A beloved story which features so much love, devotion, redemption, and bravery all into one.
You can’t help feeling something for each and every character. I think that what I love most about Les Misérables. So many stories taking place. Between you and me, Éponine is still my favorite. Her story is one that truly touched my heart, then and now. And the music she sings? Amazing.

The Fox is beautifully decorated right now for the holidays. Even the waiting area off of the restrooms.
