Well, we celebrated a birthday at our house today.  A big milestone.  Banjo turned 8!  I cannot believe that he’s already 8 years old.  Where does the time go?  It seems like just yesterday he was our little growling baby.  And now he’s blowing out 8 candles on one cupcake?!

Our growling baby was born at 3 weeks early due to my own medical complications.  Pregnancy induced hypertension had landed me on strict bedrest in February of 2008 but we were lucky enough to make it to 36 weeks before I started to spill proteins. So at 37 weeks it was time to have the induction and meet our first born. There had been scary moments leading up to his birth. A few hospital stays and even a steroid injection 10 weeks earlier to boost his lungs “just in case” he came that night. But we made it together and now he’s 8! I cannot believe how fast the years have flown by. He’s so smart, so funny, and truly the best big brother to the other small people at our house. This family started with him but it’s also complete with him. We are beyond blessed.

And here is why he’s my growling baby:

Sure do miss those days!

No matter what he will always be my little growling baby. Always.
