We aren’t coming right off the holidays. Not really at all because we’ve had a month to prepare for February. But it sure does feel like it. I feel like January just flew by. Out of nowhere it’s February and our youngest’s birthday on the 3rd. Just yesterday! And was I ever totally unprepared. Well, I was up until a few days ago. I hadn’t planned a friend birthday party for him and it was much too late to send out invites the week of so… we decided that a sibling birthday party would be perfect this time around. And it was!
Having a sibling birthday party is quite easy to do.
We so often get busy with the hustle and bustle of life. There’s this activity to go to and that. Much of the time our kids aren’t together. One kid will be at one activity while another is at a different one. They aren’t able to spend time together as siblings. At least not enough time. Family is very important to us. I have a feeling that this sibling celebration idea just might be replicated again and again.
How To Plan The Perfect Sibling Birthday Party
- Plan an activity- We were given tickets to attend the Disney On Ice Reach For The Stars show on opening night. This was the perfect activity to kick off Graham’s birthday weekend. Such a great night together as a family.
It was magical.
Sure there were lots of props and special effects but my favorite was the simplicity.
Disney favorites like Belle, Rapunzel, Ariel, Elsa and Anna all took to the ice.
We loved all the colors and the floating lights were amazing.
Our kids loved it.
So many smiles and so much laughter. Perfect activity for the sibling party.
- Party favors- I love doing work for Build-A-Bear. Yesterday the West County Mall store here in St. Louis had us come in and each of our children were able to make a furry friend. Such a great gift. We surprised the kids with the news just before heading out the door.
It took a few seconds to register. They were in shock.
And then the fun began.
How cute are those backpack carriers?!
They all decided to go with Pokemon and our friends at Build-A-Bear did not disappoint. Pikachu (I think he is adorable), Meowth and Eevee were the chosen ones. The kids were also given an outfit and accessory to go with their new friends.
When we got home the kids played Pokemon in the basement for hours. So special to see the sibling love and spending time together!
- Birthday treats- No birthday is complete without cake and ice cream. The siblings loved going out to lunch and then celebrating later that evening with cake.
I plan to work on learning video editing so I can do a video of how to make that Ninjago cake. Stay tuned…
I’d say this sibling birthday celebration was a major success. We will definitely be doing more of these in the future.
