A few weeks ago we took a little family travel weekend to Santa Claus, Indiana. (You can read more about our trip and what took us there HERE.) It was a nice getaway from all the busy day to day life here in St. Louis and just happened to fall right at the end of the school year. The kids love our time there and cannot wait to go back. They keep asking when we will return. At just 3 hours away from St. Louis it’s definitely something that’s doable. We are thinking this fall, because we found an amazing Indiana resort that we’ve heard is even more perfect in the fall. Find out why that is below!

The Resort That Has It All In Santa Claus, Indiana

If you are looking for an Indiana resort near Holiday World then you will not want to look any further than Lake Rudolph. It’s the perfect location to the theme park. To be honest it’s more than just perfect… This unique camping resort is actually right next door to Holiday World! The accommodations are unlike any campground that I’ve ever been to. In my eyes that’s what makes Lake Rudolph an actual camping resort instead of just a regular Indiana campground. A shuttle that goes back and forth to Holiday World, tons of activities and family fun galore. There are even rentable golf carts to be driven around the property. You’ll find out more about those golf carts below!

Accommodations at Lake Rudolph: 534 sites

  • hundreds of vacation rentals
  • full hookup RV sites – some with brand new pull through pads.
  • tent sites in a beautiful wooded setting

The property is huge. A reason why those golf carts come in handy!

This Santa Claus, Indiana Campground Is All About Glamping

Glamping is a popular term these days. Some people just don’t like to camp and that’s okay. I personally can only rough it for about a day. At Lake Rudolph there is camping for those who do like to camp, but there’s also accommodations that are not camping at all. In addition to the tent and RV sites, there are also cabins complete with all the amenities of home. We were hosted by Lake Rudolph in a Christmas Cabin.

How gorgeous is the setting of this cabin?

Our kids loved the loft!

Check out my video tour of the Christmas Cabin:

As you can see, the Christmas Cabin is so darling and can sleep a lot of people. It sleeps up to 8 people to be exact and comes complete with all the comforts of home. Just make sure to bring your own top sheets and blankets. You will find more details on what is included with the cabin HERE.

Think family reunion, because there are tons of cabins available right next to each other!

In addition to the Christmas Cabins there are 3 more different types to choose from!

Heading to Holiday World?

We loved being able to walk to the free shuttle that took us to Holiday World and brought us back at teh end of the day.

Lake Rudolph activities. Swimming pool, miniature golf, fishing, paddle boats, water slides, and playgrounds.

So many activities to choose from PLUS those golf carts that I mentioned already.

Lake Rudolph Golf Carts

The Lake Rudolph golf carts have become a tradition for many families over the years. People decorate their rented golf carts and take part in a parade. So fun! And remember how big the property is? Do the Lake Rudolph golf carts ever come in handy!

One of the reasons we want to return to this particular Indiana resort in the fall are all the Halloween celebrations. Lake Rudolph has Halloween weekends that sound like a ghoulish good time. Think haunted hayrides, trick-or-treating, campsite decorating contests, bonfires and so much more. We cannot wait to go in the fall!

Lake Rudolph is definitely my type of glamping in Santa Claus, Indiana. We loved our stay. Book your own stay HERE.
