St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. Do you celebrate? Here’s the perfect beverage recipe for the Kelly green holiday. This white chocolate mint cocoa recipe is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
Saint Patrick White Chocolate Mint Cocoa
And if you use specific ingredients then it’s also gluten free!
Now I’m most definitely of Irish descent. I’ve done my homework on the family history. My great-grandmother’s side came to the United States from Ireland. Plus, I did that whole and it came that I’m Irish. Oh and I’ve got the red head little boy at my house to prove it to you! But here’s the thing… I’m just so not a fan of the typical St. Patty’s Day celebratory food and drink. Corned beef and cabbage is so not my thing. I don’t drink alcohol so Bailey’s is out. At our house we just lean towards foods that are green for St. Patty’s Day. That’s why this white chocolate mint cocoa is perfectly dandy for our Irish celebration. I’ll bet it’s perfectly dandy for yours, too!
White Chocolate Mint Cocoa Recipe
This recipe yields four servings.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups whole milk
2 cups half and half
8 oz (2 large bars) white chocolate bar – broken into small pieces
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 drops green food coloring
Garnish: whipped cream and chocolate syrup (Hershey’s)
DIRECTIONS
1. In a large saucepan, add the milk and half and half. Heat over medium heat until the milk becomes hot – do not let the milk boil.
2. Add the white chocolate and stir occasionally until melted.
3. Add the extract and food coloring. Stir until well mixed.
4. Pour the into serving glass and garnish with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
