I love Union Station for a variety of reason. It has a rich history here in St. Louis, from its active railway days to a mall that was open for decades. The early years of the mall life are some of my most cherished childhood memories. It’s where I posed for a picture with a cardboard cutout of President Ronald Reagan and where I got my plastic charm necklace. My grandparents had fond memories of when it was a busy train station and shared those memories with me by taking me to the mall.

There’s my plastic charm necklace!

Right now the old station is a very active construction site. I suited up for the hard hat tour and experienced a side of Union Station that I’ve never been privy to before.

So much happening to get everything in order. For those familiar with the way it was before, the entire mall space is being completely revamped!
