For many years I didn’t think that I was that Irish. St. Patrick’s Day would come around and I would begin to wonder. Like most people I figured that I had some level in my heritage, but to what extent I was not certain. My great-great-grandparents on my father’s side came directly from England and my great-grandfather was first generation American. Did some of their ancestor’s originate in Ireland? What about my mother’s family? So I did the Ancestry DNA test and found out that I’m actually 11% Irish!
