What is it with little boys and trains? It seems like every little boy I have ever met is transfixed by trains. Okay not just trains I guess. Anything that transports really. And not just any type of transportation. Transportation that goes really fast. I’m talking trains, planes, and automobiles. Both of my boys especially love the variety that rides on the rails. Be it the sound of the horn, the clang of the signal as it lowers in front of traffic, the rumble of the engine and cars cruising down the track… All will grab the attention of my little men. So naturally when it comes to things to do in St Louis we are drawn to the Museum of Transportation.
Over the weekend we set out yet again to take the kids yet again to see the trains. On the way there I just happened to check the and found half price tickets. Always a dandy thing! Just a word of advice… It’s always a good idea to check your local deals before going to local shows, events, attractions, etc. You can view your .
The Museum of Transportation
If you’ve never before been to this museum then now is the time to make a trip out to it. If you are visiting my fine city in the future then the Museum of Transportation is definitely one for your list of things to do in St Louis. Especially if you have a train lover(s) at your house like I do.
It’s a great place for kids to explore and learn about the past.
My kids love everything about this place. They love to run around and just take it all in.
It’s like a train yard graveyard.
At the Museum of Transportation the kids love to explore the past and I love to take pictures of the past. It’s a photographer’s (or a wanna be photographer in my case) wonderland. So many pieces of our country’s history are brought back to life in this train yard.
For kids the Museum of Transportation a playground of adventure and education in one. Just to see the past come alive in their eyes. It’s amazing. Kids get to all aboard and ring train bells.
Kids of all ages can even take a ride on a real trolley, a small scale train, and peddle train races! A truly magical place for a lover of all things train.
We will be back.
Stay tuned for more things to do in St Louis!
Have a train lover at your house? Curious about the types of trains we have at our house? Basically we have tons of wooden track that carries lots of . In addition to Thomas, my train lovers also like to watch the show.
Would love to know the types of trains at your house and if your kids like to watch the train shows. Let me know in the comments if you too have a train loving household!
