Opening night of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory musical at The Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis and was it ever fabulous. This is one that I’d see again and again. And I had Wonka’s golden ticket. Technically I always have a gold ticket when I attend a show at the Fox Theatre. I love being one of their partners and helping to promote all the fun entertainment that hits the Lou!
Feel Like You Won A Golden Ticket At The Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Musical
I truly felt like I had Wonka’s golden ticket when I attended the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical. It’s no surprise, because I honestly feel like I have the golden ticket every time I get invited to a show at the Fabulous Fox. There’s something extra special about Broadway musicals when on the Fox Theatre’s stage.
If you have a ticket to see the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical then you too have the golden ticket. Be it if it’s here in St. Louis or in a city near you… you’ll have the golden ticket when you attend this production. I’d even dare say that you have something far better than a golden ticket.
I’ve Got A Golden Ticket
Okay. Okay. I printed my own Golden Ticket.

Willy Wonka’s Often Unknown St. Louis Ties
This musical is one that the entire family will enjoy. So much fun and talent abound. I also couldn’t help but smile thinking about Menlo Smith… it was hard not to be curious if anyone else in the audience knew about the Willy Wonka ties to St. Louis. A man by the name of Menlo Smith has been called the real life Willy Wonka. In the 1950’s this candy maker came to St. Louis and developed the brand that made Pixy Stix, Sweetarts, Sprees, Nerds and other candies that were actually featured in the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film back in 1971.
Did you know that bit of trivia, St. Louis?
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Musical
Everything about this show was magical. From the colorful set that brought the world made of candy to life to the well known music to the amazing talent… it feels like you are really taking a tour of Willy Wonka’s candy factory.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical Numbers
You’ll have to see the show to find out all the musical numbers. I’m going to leave that as a surprise. But you will for sure be hearing the old favorite, The Candy Man.
Oompa Loompas
Here’s another thing that I’m leaving as a surprise. I was so impressed! The Oompa Loopmas were so creatively done. So fun and definitely one of my favorite parts.

My husband and I both enjoyed this show. It was a lot of fun feeling like a kid again. Wish we had taken our kids to see it because we know they would have LOVED it. I might be needing to look for tickets for before it leaves town!
