It’s so easy to make your own personal pizzas using pita bread. The entire family can even get creative with whatever concoction fits their taste buds. In my opinion the BBQ chicken pita pizza is the best. Just don’t forget the pineapple. That really makes it!

Personal Pita Pizza Recipe

(BBQ Chicken Pita Pizza)

This BBQ chick pita pizza is so easy to make and only 450 calories!

Ingredients for this BBQ chicken pita pizza:

  • 1 whole-grain pita bread round
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup sliced grilled chicken breast
  • 1 red onion slice (you’ll separate the rings)
  • 3 tablespoons pineapple tidbits
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup shredded pizza cheese (or other cheese of choice)

Directions for this BBQ chicken pita pizza:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2: Place a pita on top of a parchment lined baking sheet.

Step 3: Spread BBQ sauce on pita bread.

Step 4: Add pineapple tidbits.

Step 5: Add grilled chicken breast.

Step 6: Add red onion slices.

Step 7: Add parsley.

Step 8: Top with cheese.

Step 9: Bake at 400 degrees for 10-13 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Spinach + Pesto Pita Pizza (424 calories)

  • 2 tbsp. basil pesto
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup Schnucks shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • Garnish: fresh arugula or spinach

Blueberry + Feta Pita Pizza (403 calories)

  • 1/4 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 2 tbsp. crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme, plus more to serve
  • Garnish: 1 tsp. honey

Or… Have your kids create their own concoctions with various toppings!
