We have a new contributor here on the blog. Her name is Irene. Let’s all sing it together, “Come on Irene and be part of the dandy team!”
I’m a child of the 80’s so it’s not surprising that I grew up listening to the likes of Come on Irene. Best. Song. Ever. Have a listen:
Wait. Wait just a minute. It’s not Come on Irene. It’s Come on Eileen. Oh dear. Well now that’s just a tad bit embarrassing. Almost as embarrassing as someone trying to sing the words to Benny and The Jets. You know what I’m talking about. But honestly. Here I thought that I was being all catchy with my blog posting title given that our new contributor is named Irene and all. Well now I messed that one up. Just tell me that I’m all original with it okay? Make me feel just teensy bit better about my big time flub.
At any rate I’m still happy to introduce you to this girl Irene. She’s way cooler than Eileen is anyway.
Who better to introduce herself than Irene herself? So I says to her, “Come on Irene tell me a little bit about herself.” And she did.
Everything you ever wanted to know about our new contributor gal Come On Irene:
I am a geek. I married a geek. Most of my kids are geeks. We spend our homeschool days counting lightsabers, writing stories about the doctor, and exploring the science of Star Trek.
I am married to the love of my life. We met in junior high of all places, but it took more than 12 years for us to tie the knot. We have 4 living children that bring us both joy and exasperation, often simultaneously! We also have 3 brown star babies that we miss and love immensely.
I enjoy camping, hiking, dancing, playing games with my family, and creating. My family is also very involved in Scouting and serving our community.
But guess what? There’s more. (Hey, that’s beginning to sound like one of those midnight infomercials… Just stop. Someone tell me to stop.) The more is that our new Come on Irene gal… She’s not really named Irene. Well, she is. Kind of. Her middle name is Irene. Her first name though? It’s only the dandiest first name known to man. The first name that every girl of the 80’s wanted. The first name that I know that YOU wish was your first name. It’s Tara. *wink* See? Told you it was the most dandiest name. The parents of Tara Irene and Tara Lynn (that’s me) knew what they were doing when they were researching that baby names book. It’s not an overly common name. Because it’s just that dandy. Hmmm. I wonder if Tara Irene was named after this movie like I was. Could be. I’ll have to ask her.
For the simplicity of it all she’s going to go by the name Irene here on the blog. That way you can tell us apart. No matter what I’m happy to have Irene/Tara on board. Definitely not Eileen. Definitely. Not.
