DIY Patriotic Star Wreath
What you’ll need:
All supplies for this DIY wreath are available at Michael’s craft store.
- 10” foam wreath form – available HERE
- 9’ of 2.5” ribbon – red with white and blue stars
- 6” of 2.5” ribbon – red with white and blue stars
- Poppy flowers
- Hot glue gun with glue
- Scissors
Directions for this farmhouse wreath:
- Step 1. Apply a 2” strip of hot glue to the wreath form, and attach one end of the ribbon, holding it down to secure. Use scissors to hold it down, so that you don’t burn your fingers.
- Step 2. Once dry, apply a 2” strip of hot glue on top of 1” of the ribbon and 1” of the wreath form, and wrap the ribbon around and on top, overlapping the first strip of ribbon slightly. Hold the ribbon down to secure until the glue dries. You can do this with the scissors again so as not to burn yourself on hot glue.
- Step 3. Continue to wrap the ribbon around the wreath, slightly overlapping as you go.
- Step 4. Once you get to the end of the wreath, apply hot glue to hold the end of the ribbon in place, making sure that it ends in the back so that you don’t see it.
- Step 5. Remove poppy flower from main stem (they are in bunches of 2-3 flowers. Arrange flowers on the front of the wreath until you get the desired look.
- Step 6. The stems will look sloppy in the back, so cover those with the 6” ribbon, attaching ribbon with hot glue
