‘Twas the Night Before… a really great holiday show. Or the night of a really great holiday show, depending on when you are seeing it! Cirque du Soleil has taken over the stage at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis and it’s a festive show that the whole family can enjoy. Each year there’s a new Fabulous Fox Christmas show that truly captures the audience’s attention and this season is no exception.

The Fabulous Fox Christmas Show You Don’t Want to Miss
The magic of Christmas is already in full swing at the Fabulous Fox! I always love celebrating the holiday season at this treasured St Louis theatre. The venue itself is always fabulous (and gorgeous), but even more so during the holidays. The overall atmosphere and decor just really adds to the season. For many families it has become a wonderful holiday tradition. I know for me, I have fond memories of seeing the classic tale A Christmas Carol at the Fox with my Girl Scout troop when I was in elementary school. It was such a beautifully done Fabulous Fox Christmas show.
What is Cirque du Soleil?
Known for creating an immersive experience from the stage, Cirque du Soleil is also renowned for its innovative and visually stunning theatrical productions. The shows incorporate circus arts, dancing and music that has become beloved by audiences since 1984.
What sets Cirque du Soleil apart from a traditional circus?
Unlike a traditional circus, there are typically no animals in a Cirque du Soleil show. You won’t find a solo ring master on stage, but rather an entire International cast telling a primarily non-verbal story through acrobatics, music, dance, and visual effects.

Fox Theatre Night Out
This redheaded boy of mine joined me for opening night of ‘Twas the Night Before… by Cirque du Soleil.
A couple of years ago was Cirque du Soleil’s first Christmas show for the two of us and so I thought it was fitting he should join me again.
Fox Theatre Kids’ Night
And it just so happened to be Kids’ Night at the Fox so there were fun activities!
There was an impressive circus stilt walker out in front on the sidewalk.
We had the sweetest picture taken together by The Selfie Room.
Fabulous Fox Christmas Show
‘Twas the Night Before… by Cirque du Soleil is mesmerizing as it takes you on a magical journey of holiday spirit. The story of a jaded young girl and her father trying to connect with her is told through the classic poem about the night before Christmas by an unseen narrator (remember Cirque du Soleil is primarily non-verbal). Unlike other holiday classics, this one doesn’t feature many memorable lines, but it’s filled with lovable characters… including Saint Nicholas himself.
Whether you are in the front row or up in the upper balcony, you will be enchanted by the music that is at times disco, hip hop and classic Christmas carols. The gravity defying acts will truly amaze and you will wonder what you will witness next. It’s a show that you will have you cheering from your seat as you congratulate the performers for a job well done.
