Giant Advent Calendar: Easy to Make, Fun to Color for Christmas
We are gearing up for all the holiday season around here. This week especially. Heading to the Polar Express at Union Station tonight, Winter Wonderland at Tilles Park (first time for us to do the walk through) on Friday night and Nutcracker On Ice practice on Saturday morning. There are just so many Christmas activities this time of year.
Oh and family pictures for the Christmas cards… that’s taking place with the photographer on Saturday afternoon. That sure is part of holiday fun even if the kids don’t agree on that one. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, friends! Busy. Busy. Busy. And any day now we will be putting up the Christmas tree. The days of December are upon us!

I love creating holiday coloring pages. It’s just something that I enjoy doing and then giving you the file to print for yourself. And I gotta say that I’m extra proud of how this Christmas countdown turned out. It’s a DIY advent calendar that is fun for the whole family to enjoy the entire month of December!
While it’s not 100% free, since it can’t technically be printed from a home printer, this printable calendar is most definitely not expensive to have made.

Unique Advent Calendar

This giant advent calendar is the perfect way to countdown to Christmas. Kids can color each day and there are even extra holiday images to color. Plus, it’s so easy (and inexpensive) to make. How To Print Blueprints
Starting at just $1.89!
It’s easy to print blueprints via Staples or Office Depot. These jumbo printables are so much fun for kids to color on. Simply upload the free file to either Staples or Office Max, pick which size you’d like (I made the png file to fit 36″ x 48″, but it will work with any size), and select black and white. It’s that easy and you can ship right to your home!
A great way to countdown to the Christmas season!
How To Make The Giant Christmas Coloring Page
Grab the free download file here.
Order the blueprint on Office Depot (here) or Staples.
Use a measuring tape to hang evenly on your wall with some painter’s tape at the corners. (Or another type of tape that will not damage your wall.)
Add a bucket of crayons.
Let the kids go wild!
How cute are those matching Magnolia family pajamas?!
This poster counts down 24 to 1, but there are also extra holiday coloring options. So kids don’t have to wait until the next day to color away. It makes such a cute Christmas decoration, too!
Will this advent calendar make a great gift? Yes, of course! Make it a premium gift by adding some fancy crayons or colored pencils and then drop it off at a friend’s home.
Other advent calendar ideas…
Perhaps next year I should create other themed advent calendars. My kids would enjoy a fun advent calendar that’s Harry Potter themed. Could I do that in a Christmas time holiday design? Maybe if I add some Christmas lights and jingle bells to color with the Wizarding World characters. I could even include some candy cane and Christmas cookie clipart. It could totally be a fun idea, but I’ll definitely have to think on it. Just add that Christmas Eve countdown calendar to my growing list of Christmas decorating ideas. There are so many!
Something that is at the top of the list is a Nativity advent calendar. One that tells the Christmas story. Can you just picture it? A manger scene with Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the three Wise Men, stars, shepherds, animals in the stable and more! Now that is an advent calendar that I definitely need to create. It’s one that celebrates the true meaning of Christmas.
Tell your friends about this printable giant advent calendar!
You’ll definitely want to tell your friends about this fun activity that’s all about holiday cheer and counting down to Christmas Day! Kids of all ages will enjoy the activity idea. Be sure to tell them that they can find it on the Seeing Dandy blog on they can make their own advent calendar.
