Pancakes from the Tropics

The first time I ever had Hawaiian pancakes was while on our Big Island vacation. I’m not often a fan of cooked or baked banana flavor (as in I cannot stand banana bread), but I do like these delicious pancakes. And I’m pretty sure it’s mainly due to the tropical syrup.

Hawaiian Sun Premium Coconut Syrup

Unlike conventional pancake dressings (like pure maple syrup) coconut syrup adds a What can I say? I love all things coconut. Pretty sure these are my favorite pancakes all due to the coconut syrup! That does make me question… Perhaps I should use the coconut syrup on French toast, German pancakes, Belgian waffles, Cream Of Wheat pancakes or Samoa pancakes.

So delicious and a great way to think of Hawaii all year long!

Tips for making fluffy buttermilk pancakes:

The best pancakes are always made from a batter with a thicker consistency so do not add too much water to your mix. This will ensure that you get fluffy pancakes that are perfect for holding the slices of banana.

Other coconut recipe ideas for breakfast:

I love recipes with coconut flavor! The above Hawaiian banana pancakes is the lighter version that is more healthy, but you can definitely dress this breakfast favorite up with additional ingredients. Add crunchy macadamia nuts to create banana macadamia pancakes. Top with toasted coconut flakes and whipped cream for an even sweeter flavor.
