If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve noticed that for the last while my pictures have song lyrics that go along with them. A few reasons for that. I love all different types of music, think that there’s a song that can go along with any picture, and like the idea of giving my followers some new tunes to try out. So for this particular blog post I’m going to definitely give you a song Because I just have to. It goes along perfectly with Broadway’s greatest musical, Hello Dolly.

Hello Dolly at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Hello Dolly At The Fabulous Fox In St. Louis

Well, well hello, Dolly
Well, hello, Dolly
It’s so nice to have you back where you belong
You’re looking swell, Dolly,
We can tell, Dolly,
You’re still glowin’, you’re still crowin’
You’re still goin’ strong

Now that song will be stuck in your head all day and that’s a very good thing. It will serve as a reminder for  you to get tickets to see this fabulous musical at the Fabulous Fox! My husband and I actually sang it the whole way home after experiencing opening night of Hello Dolly at the Fox Theatre here in St. Louis. Why? Because the show was that captivating and it was fun being out on the town together.

Why see Hello Dolly?

This run of the popular classic musical features the talents of Carolee Carmello. She’s witty and fun. Most of the audience’s laughter came from her, but the entire cast performed really well together.

Both my husband and I had never seen the musical before so we went in with limited knowledge. Of course I’ve heard some of the music before and seen bits of the movie version, but that’s the extent. It was fun seeing something for the very first time and truly enjoying it all.

Hello Dolly has quite the large cast wearing colorful outfits of the era. Lots of signing, dancing and memories. It’s the story of a matchmaker, Dolly Levi (played by Carolee Carmello) who has been so focused the happiness of others, she has let life pass her by after her husband’s death. She found joy (and employment) in helping others, but witnessing her finally come alive again was breathtaking. Everyone is touched by and sees something different in this type of art. For me Hello Dolly displayed that life continues on, we make the most of it and sometimes are given opportunities entirely by chance. It’s what we do with those opportunities that can bring about a change.

Why the St. Louis Fox Theatre is perfect for Hello Dolly?

The St. Louis Fox Theatre is the perfect location for this Broadway masterpiece. Our fine theatre only adds to the ambience with all the vintage decor. What is witnessed on stage in terms of set design can be found throughout the Fox.
