DIY Hot Chocolate Bar on a Budget

What you’ll need:

  • Hot chocolate mixes (or cocoa powder and milk if you’d like to make your own homemade hot chocolate from scratch)
  • Festive mugs or mason jars
  • Favorite toppings for hot chocolate
  • Glass bowls or dessert places for holding the toppings
  • Sweet treats to serve on the side
  • Heavy whipping cream (I prefer from the spray can, but you can also whip up your own.)

I found everything I needed at my local grocery store and all at a great value as part of the Weekly Ad Deals. Just about every brand of hot cocoa mix was on sale too!

My hot chocolate bar sign was a major find after the holidays were over. I found it, the “merry and bright” mugs, and the cute containers for toppings at Hobby Lobby on January 2nd this year. It was all 90% off and I’ve also seen several items perfect for creating a DIY hot cocoa bar at my local dollar store and Dollar Tree. You know where you’ll find me right after the 1st of the year!
