Did you know that May is Melanoma Awareness Month? It is. I think that it’s quite fitting for the month before summer to be the one to raise much needed awareness for melanoma. In another month or so people all over will be enjoying the outdoors and many will NOT be wearing sunscreen. Perhaps they already are. There have already been a few warm and sunny days here in St. Louis. Do you wear sunscreen? You should. Those who have melanoma will tell you that you should most definitely be wearing sunscreen. Because you never know if you will get melanoma or not. And when you do get it… What’s next? Locally we haven’t always had many resources for those fighting melanoma. Until now. The Melanoma Hope Network is opening very soon in Kirkwood, MO to be that ray of hope for someone who’s going through the journey that is melanoma.

Recently I heard about the Melanoma Hope Network from a very dear friend. She not only fights melanoma but she’s also a strength to many. Nancy was diagnosed with this beast of a disease 2 years ago. Since then she has dedicated so much time to the cause. Raising awareness, supporting others, and a voice to let our community know to take better care of our skin. I stand in awe of all that she has accomplished. You can read more about her story HERE.
Nancy’s latest mission is to raise funds to help the Melanoma Hope Network. She is going to accomplish this task by donating these bags of hope. Each bag will contain information for the newly diagnosed individual and just help to provide that added support.
Her goal is to donate 100 bags and I have no doubt that she will reach her goal.
How can YOU help?
You will also find a video about the project on the Facebook event page and be able to connect with Nancy. Let’s make a difference in the fight again melanoma one ray of hope at a time!
