My little lady has been in love with horses, ponies or unicorns for the last few years. It was only a few summers ago we found ourselves close to a small town in Montana called Ennis. My family has a cabin near there and around the cabin are some horses that wander around.
My family loves to take apples and carrots to feed these horses and the horses seem to love it too as they see us coming and quickly come to us knowing they will be getting some treats. Well my little lady fell in love with these horses and being the strong willed girl that she is she would decide to go feed them all on her own. Now many times these horses were like a mile away. She would see them and grab a carrot and head out. There was no stopping her. You also have to remember that she was like 2 and a half at the time. We would watch her thinking that at some point she would turn around, get tired or something but she would just go. Eventually we would take a four wheeler and catch up with her and take her the rest of the way but it was truly hilarious to watch a little girl take off in the valley with that singular goal in mind of feeding those horses.
When Puppet on a Stick Rainbow Prancers from Educational Insights came in our lives I knew that it would be hit with her. She was in awe of the box when it was revealed. She couldn’t wait for it to get opened. My son on the other hand was very concerned that there were just unicorns and that according to him means girl unicorns and that there were not any “gentlecorns”. He then educated me that gentlecorns are boy unicorns, “like gentlemen”. Hey I learned something new this morning.
There are three unicorns in the box. Dazzle who is pink, Shine who is green, and Twinkle who is white.
She quickly picked her favorite. The pink one of course: Dazzle. She carried it around all morning and it went everywhere with her.
She loved to ride it as well.
The concept is simple. There is a level on the back of the stick and when you pull on the level the mouth of the unicorn opens. Dazzle soon had her own voice which my little lady was providing and she had us rolling with laughter.
Puppet on a Stick Rainbow Prancers is a perfect toy for anyone who likes ponies, horses or unicorns. I am guessing we will have hours of fun with this one and it may make the perfect last minute Holiday gift if you are looking for something unique, interactive, promotes imagination and is just plain fun.
