Disney Movies For Halloween
There was a time in the 80’s when Disney steered away from cartoons and did more live action thrillers. They had in fact done many live action movies in the 60’s, but those (with a few exceptions) weren’t of the spooky variety. Here’s a list of the lesser known Halloween Disney movies that your family will love!
The year? 1986. My husband raves about this one. We will be watching it with our kids on Halloween night. Get Mr. Boogedy HERE.
The sequeal to the original spooky family film, Mr. Boogedy, came out the very next year in 1987. Get Bride of Boogedy HERE.
As a child this movie gave me the creeps and yet I could not stop watching it. We had it recorded on VHS and I’d watch it over and again. Even when it wasn’t Halloween season! It’s a good one, folks. You can get your own copy of Child of Glass HERE.
Not an 80’s feature film, but definitely one of my favorites. This one is from the late 60’s and fun for the entire family. I remember watching it for the first time at my grandparent’s house and it was so fun introducing my own kids to it a few weeks ago. Get Blackbeard’s Ghost HERE.
I have just three words for you. Bette. Davis. Eyes. Okay I’ll tell you a bit more about this spooky film. It came out in 1980 and I first watched it in the library of our elementary school. A bit of supernatural tied in with a creepy neighbor and I had nightmares for weeks! The Watcher in the Woods is available HERE.
This one came out in 1997 as a Disney Channel special television movie. Mummies are perfect for Halloween and naturally that makes it’s perfect for a family movie. Especially since it’s about a mummy living in the basement!!! You can get the Under Wraps movie HERE.
Believe it or not, but I saw Disney’s The Black Cauldron in the movie theater. Now that’s really giving away my age!!! This animated fantasy came out way back in 1985. It’s all about adventure with some scariness mixed in. Get The Black Cauldron HERE.
The Adventures of Ichabod And Mr. Toad
Disney’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow
My kids love this one. It’s a true Disney classic in this oldie but goodie! A whole new generation can enjoy this spooky Disney cartoon and it’s perfect for Halloween time. Get this treasured classic HERE.
Here’s another 80’s creepy movie that I enjoyed in childhood. A Disney’s Wonderful World movie that first aired on television is fun for the Halloween season. The setting? Picture a historic mansion, military academy and haunted halls… definitely one of my favorite scary Disney movies! Get The Ghosts of Buxley Hall HERE.
I hope these scary Disney movies make your Halloween spooktastic!
