What to Wear to South Pacific at The Muny

Whether you are taking a South Pacific cruise or attending the musical at The Muny, wearing clothing that fits with the humidity is always a good idea. During the warmer months in St. Louis it can be difficult to dress for special events, especially if the event is outdoors. And I found the perfect casual evening outfit that can be dressed up or down! The look goes well with a pair of sandals or a pair of flats. Basically the perfect style for a vacation to the South Pacific islands or a tropical destination.

My husband and I attended opening night of South Pacific at The Muny and it was absolutely the best evening. I've been getting a lot of questions about what I wore. Which is hilarious to me because I in no way consider myself a fashion icon. I'm just a mom blogger (and the occasional published author) who loves to attend Broadway musicals and sharing about all the things in St. Louis that makes it a really great city.
Fun fact. My husband performed in the orchestra for this one his junior year of high school. More fun facts. Our kids are also musical. Me? I was not a band kid but I’m a great band mom.

THE MUNY IN FOREST PARK
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific will transport you back in time to laid-back island life that existed even during wartime. The civilians and military personnel for the most part seem to be living a life on the main island that's far from World War II but also feeling the stress of war at the same time.
And that Overture. You only get that amazing long overture with the classic musicals. I may not have been a band kid but I can appreciate good music when I hear it. This one does not disappoint. The vocals were also spectacular as well as usage of the stage set. Taylor Louderman, Paulo Szot, Joan Almedilla, Bobby Conte, Michael Canu, and so many others bring the sparkle to the Muny Magic.
