I love my job.  Because of it I get to attend movies before they open.  Getting that invitation for press passes is always a highlight.  It gives me the opportunity to spend time with my friends and family to bond over a soon-to-open film.  Just over a week ago I received the invitation to attend a screening of Zootopia so I could then give my very own Zootopia review.  Didn’t have to twist my arm.  We just so happened to be in Disney World when the email invitation arrived so it was perfect  timing.  My kids were ecstatic when I told them and then proceeded to point out Zootopia merchandise/posters all over the park.  The shops had the cutest stuffed animals from the movie.  The Disney buses had placements for the upcoming film.  The Animal Kingdom (where we were staying) was Zootopia friendly.  Yes, even before the official release of the movie WDW was indeed ready for it!

On Monday I took my little Dandies (with their cousin in tow) to watch that early screening of Zootopia.  Which means you know what’s next… The Seeing Dandy Zootopia review!

Our Dandy Zootopia Review:

We LOVED it.

In true Disney Pixar fashion this is not just a kid’s movie.  It’s a movie that we adults can enjoy as well.  In fact I saw more adults in the audience than kids!  We laughed.  We cried (from all the laughing).  We laughed some more.  Definitely a funny movie and a must see.  I will, however, insert the *warning* now.  The movie does have a few scary parts.  Perhaps since we saw it in 3D that only added to the scariness?  Things jumping out in 3D tend to have that effect.  But there were some scary parts.  These parts even made the adults sitting around us jump!  So just be prepared for that if your children are quite young.  End of warning.

The Story Line.

Without giving too much away because you have to see the movie for yourself… I think this is a story line that really resonates with all ages.  It’s about overcoming obstacles no matter how big or how difficult.  Every stage of life we have obstacles but those challenges do no have to define us.  They make us stronger.  They push us harder.  They allow us to achieve greatness.

Art Lessons.

Disney pulls out all the stops when it come to fun and magic.  Seriously.  They think of everything that will entertain and only add to the enjoyment of their films.  Here you can see step-by-step instruction for drawing a few Zootopia characters.
